Nursing Care from the Mode of Action in Chemical Technological Disasters
Keywords:
technological disasters, Nursing Care, chemical compoundsAbstract
Introduction: In chemical technological disasters, the rapid development of the toxic process on a large number of people, the variability of the clinical picture and the risk of secondary contamination, demand to identify from a preparatory stage the possible nursing action mode.
Objective: To identify how the scientific literature approaches the current state of nursing care from the point of view of the mode of action in chemical technological disasters.
Methods: Integrative review of the scientific literature, included the years from 2014 to April 2024, through searches in databases: PubMed, EBSCO, SciELO and Dialnet. The inclusion criteria were: original or review studies, available in full text, stating the methodology applied; the language was not defined. The search strategy used was the PRISMA method, and the keywords identified in DeCS:"technological disasters", “disasters”, "nursing care", “care”, “action” and Boolean operators: AND and OR. Content analysis was performed on the results.
Conclusions: Chemical technological disasters are a major problem worldwide. There is a predominance of studies that describe the nursing professional's performance as: profiles, functions, performance, competencies and from a generic approach; but they do not take into account the content and forms of nursing care.
Keywords: technological disasters; nursing care; chemical compounds.
