Therapeutic toy for the perception of nursing care in pediatric patients diagnosed with COVID-19

Introduction: Hospitalization in infants generates isolation from their family environment, the Therapeutic Toy favors coping with this situation.
Objective: describe the perceptions of pediatric patients diagnosed with COVID -19 on the improvement of nursing care.
Methods: Qualitative exploratory study using a therapeutic toy with dynamics "Draw, write and count", applied to ten children admitted to the pediatric services of the Orthopedic Hospital "Frank País", Havana, Cuba. Period of March-April of the year 2021. Was recording, transcription and content analysis, according to Bardin.
Results: Four categories emerged preferences and demands, longings and wishes for the end of the pandemic, satisfaction with care and projection of the drawings.
Conclusions: The dynamics used turned out to be a modality accepted by the infants, it allowed them to play and thereby express feelings and concerns that helped to release tension. Among the perceptions about the improvement of nursing care, satisfaction stands out, they also describe their concerns about the situation they live, as well as the needs for recreation and affective communication.
