Validation of a Faculty Development Program in Neurodidactics for Nursing Educators
Abstract
Introduction: Neurodidactics integrates findings from neuroscience with educational practice to optimize learning. In the training of Higher Technical Nursing professionals, this is particularly relevant due to the demand for clinical precision and emotional management.
Objective: To validate the structure of a faculty development program in neurodidactics for nursing educators at the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Bolivariano de Tecnología.
Methods: A non-experimental descriptive design focused on expert judgment validation was employed. Fifteen experts (K ≥ 0.8) were selected based on their training and experience in neuroscience and education. The specialists evaluated eight dimensions of the program (V1–V8) using a matrix with a 1–5 Likert scale and space for comments. The non-parametric Kendall’s W test (α = 0.05) was applied to measure agreement.
Results: The most highly rated aspects were the program description, objectives, learning outcomes, content system, and evaluation system. Methodological guidelines (V6) and bibliography (V8) received lower scores, indicating areas for improvement. Expert judgments showed a high level of agreement: W = 0.941; χ² = 98.757; df = 7; p = 0.000, confirming the consistency of expert judgment regarding the program’s structure.
Conclusions: The program shows high content validity and is relevant and feasible for implementation in nursing faculty training, with recommendations to strengthen methodological guidelines and update the bibliography.
