Nursing models associated with interventional cardiology and their relationship to renal conditions
Keywords:
cardiology, interventional cardiology, nursing models, renal diseases, angioplastyAbstract
Introduction: Contrast-induced nephropathy represents an important adverse effect derived from the administration of contrast media.
Objective: To expose elements on the relationship between nursing models and nursing action models related to interventional cardiology and their association with renal conditions.
Methods: A narrative review of the literature was carried out based on the identification of some publications dealing with the subject of study. The ideas of various nursing authors and theorists were described, in particular the theory of Myra Levine who refers to the conservation model and the theorist Anne Boykin and Savina Schoenhofer who propose nursing as care, as a model to transform practice.
Conclusions: Models of nursing professional performance are important as a theoretical support, as an identifier of the user's needs (patient-nurse-family), as a gauge of the effectiveness of the care offered by nursing and as a source of knowledge.
