Introduction: When evaluating the quality of Nursing care, an approach focused on identifying errors of commission and not omission has predominated, so it is necessary to explore the situation presented by lost or delayed care and its impact on the quality of care.
Objective: To identify nursing care lost and contributing factors in the context of the Cira García Central Clinic.
Methods: Quantitative study with a descriptive cross-sectional design, carried out at the Cira García Central Clinic, from January to December 2021. Population 50 Nursing professionals. To obtain the information, the OMICE survey was applied, for the analysis of the data it was used descriptive statistics and Spearman's correlation coefficient.
Result: The dimension, basic care interventions presented a greater amount of care lost (M=4.00, SD=2.2), while care interventions with continuous evaluations, was the dimension with less care lost (M=2 .33, SD=1.3). The factors with the greatest influence on the omission or delay of care were human resources (M=80.00, SD=16.4) and material resources (M=74.00, SD=18.1). A negative and significant association was found between material resources and interventions with continuous evaluations (r= -0.312, p= 0.025).
Conclusion: The greatest presence of missed nursing care fell on the basic care interventions, human resource factors were classified as the main causes of delay or omission of care; despite the fact that only the material resources factors showed a significant negative relationship with the continuous evaluation interventions.
