Management of nursing care in the Pneumological Hospital Benefico Jurídico

Abstract

Introduction: Nursing management is based on the needs that arise in the healthy or sick person at different times of their lives from pregnancy to death. It is a process where there is organization, planning, execution and control of the available resources destined to the attention of the person.

Objective: To identify the problems that affect the management of nursing care for the care of people with pneumological conditions.

Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive development research was carried out at the "Benéfico Jurídico" Pneumological Hospital in Havana, Cuba, during the year 2022. The population was 37 nurses. The combination of qualitative and quantitative techniques allowed the analysis of the nursing care management variable for the care of people with pneumological conditions. From the theoretical point of view, the theory of Nursing as care was used, supported by methodological triangulation.

Results: Insufficiencies are presented in the perspective of people such as care, nursing situation, direct invitation to the care call and shared care.

Conclusions: It is necessary for Nursing to develop actions that favor the management of nursing care for people with pneumological conditions in correspondence with the content elements of management as a process.
