Introduction: intraparenchymal hemorrhage is a common cerebrovascular accident, causing high mortality and neurological sequelae. People who suffer from it require successive and organized nursing care.
Objective: to design an algorithm for in-person nursing care with intraparenchymal hemorrhage in the hospital emergency service.
Methods: development and innovation research, with a quasi-experimental design, carried out in the Emergency Service of the Manuel Ascunce Domenech University Hospital in Camagüey, Cuba, between January and October 2019. 49 nurses were used as the population group. Single variable, nursing neurological assessment, the algorithm is developed, evaluation to the consensus of specialist criteria using a qualitative nominal group technique and approval by the Hospital Scientific Council.
Results: of the 49 nurses studied, the level of knowledge about the neurological physical examination and the care process improves, the nursing care algorithm emerges according to the level of consciousness for the person with intraparenchymal hemorrhage in the Emergency Service of the University Hospital Manuel Ascunce Doménech from Camagüey.
Conclusions: the nursing care algorithm for the person with intraparenchymal hemorrhage is developed, which constitutes improving the nursing care hemorrhage and being used as a practical-care tool, which allows complications to be identified in the first hours.
